Gujarati money creators for your brand: what their videos look like, the moments that matter, how to brief them and the rules that apply.
Gujarati money creators, in short
Gujarati money videos explain share-market basics, mutual funds, business finance, gold and loans, in Gujarati with English and Hindi terms.
Money is the niche where the rules matter most. The safest and often most useful brand video is an explainer: what the product is, who it's for, what it costs and what can go wrong.
What the videos look like
Common kinds of money video: personal finance explainers, tax-saving guides, app walk-throughs, loan and card explainers, budgeting for families, gold and savings.
Moments that matter for Gujarati money campaigns
Muhurat trading (Diwali evening): the symbolic trading session, when money is a natural topic.
Chopda pujan (Diwali): traders' new account books for the new year.
Tax-saving season (January to March): the financial year ends on 31 March, and tax-saving products are on people's minds.
Income-tax return season (June and July): filing explainers, refunds and planning for the year ahead.
How to brief a Gujarati money creator
Show Gujarati in your app or support if you have it.
If your product is for traders and shop owners, say so in the brief.
Explain, don't advise, unless the Gujarati creator is SEBI-registered.
Before you brief anyone, check whether your company is regulated by SEBI, RBI or IRDAI and what that means for who you may work with.
Brief an explainer, not a tip: what the product is, who it's for, the costs and the risks.
Ask for fees and risks shown on screen as clearly as the benefits, and never ask a creator to promise returns.
How to measure it
Count sign-ups or applications from each creator's link or code, and how many stay active after a month. A flood of sign-ups that never use the product means the video promised too much.
The rules that apply
Label it as an ad. A paid video, a free product or any other connection with the brand needs a label viewers can't miss, such as Ad, Sponsored, Collaboration, Partnership or Free gift. ASCI allows the label in English or in the language of the ad, so in a Gujarati video a Gujarati label is often the clearest. (Source: ASCI influencer guidelines, 2021.)
Investment advice needs SEBI registration. ASCI's 2023 update says creators who give investment advice must be registered with SEBI and show their registration number with their name and qualifications. Other financial advice needs a relevant qualification, such as an IRDAI licence or a chartered accountant's. (Source: ASCI influencer guidelines, August 2023 update.)
Regulated firms can't work with unregistered advisers. Since SEBI's August 2024 amendments, a SEBI-regulated entity, such as a broker or a fund house, may not associate with a person who gives securities advice or claims returns without SEBI's permission. Pure investor education is exempt. If your company is SEBI-regulated, check this before you sign anyone. (Source: SEBI amendments, 26 August 2024.)
