What should I charge a brand?
Work out what to charge brands for a dedicated video, a brand segment or a Short, from your own views and your own rate per 1,000 views. Free, no sign-up.
Rate card calculator, free
Start from your own numbers, not someone else's rate card. Type the views your videos usually get and what you charge per 1,000 views (or work it out from a deal you've already done), and get a price for each format, with usage rights, exclusivity and GST added the way brands expect to see them.
Everything you type stays in your browser: nothing is sent to Thommidhi or anyone else, and there's no sign-up.
How it works
Views: use what a typical video gets in its first 30 days, not your best one.
CPM is your price per 1,000 views. If you've done a paid video before, the calculator works it out from that fee and the views it got.
A brand segment inside a video and a Short are priced as a share of what you set: you choose the shares.
Usage rights (the brand running your video as an ad), exclusivity (no competing brand for a while) and a rush fee each add a percentage.
If you're registered for GST, 18% is added on top and shown separately, the way your invoice will show it.
Questions
How much do Indian YouTubers charge per video? There's no single rate, and published rate cards disagree with each other. A fair price depends on your views, your audience, the format and what the brand wants to do with the video. That's why this calculator starts from your own numbers.
What is CPM for a sponsored video? CPM is the price per 1,000 views. If a brand paid ₹15,000 for a video that got 30,000 views, that's a CPM of ₹500. Using the same CPM for every brand keeps your pricing consistent as your views grow.
Should I charge GST on top of my rate? Only if you're registered for GST. Then the 18% goes on top of your price and is shown separately on the invoice; registered brands can usually claim it back. If you're not registered you can't charge GST: see the GST registration checker.
